Our passion for Israel

jerusalem.jpg

Greetings

Shalom! We pray for the salvation of Israel.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee. (Psalm 122:6)

Our congregation values the importance of Israel. We believe that God has placed Israel in the center of His plan to redeem all mankind.

In thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:3b)

We know that the Jewish Messiah once had to die before the temple destruction in A.D. 70.

And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined. (Daniel 9:26)

The prophet Isaiah predicted that the Messiah would be rejected by the people of Israel, but God would put all their transgression upon Him. And by His death, we (both Jews and Gentiles) were healed (restoring peace with God, the Creator). We believe this prophecy was fulfilled by Yeshua.

He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:3-5)

Although we know that in the latter day all Israel shall be saved by the covenant-keeping God, we are praying for the Jewish people of our days shall also come to know the Lord by believing Yeshua as Messiah.

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born. (Zechariah 12:10)
